Solution Architecture

In layman's terms, I am your design-build contractor. I am not just the architect who draws blueprints, but the single expert living on your construction site from "we need faster checkouts" to handing you working keys. I choose the right materials (cloud, servers, security), coordinate all teams (developers, testers), fix leaks before walls go up, and walk you through every room of your finished system; guaranteeing it solves your actual problem, not just matches a pretty drawing.

Whether it's integrating legacy systems, moving to the cloud, or scaling past your current bottleneck.
I've got you covered.

Architecture Review

I don't just read your architecture documents and hand back a report. Honestly; you should avoid anyone who does. Here's how it actually works:

01

The Context

We start with a workshop (a few hours to a couple days, depending on complexity). You walk me through your business: domain-specific challenges, company goals, what you're actually trying to solve, what have you tried in the past, what works what doesn't etc. This isn't generic; it's your context.

02

The People

I talk to your domain experts: business people, developers, ops, analysts, etc. Whoever lives in the system daily. I want to hear about their pain points, what breaks, what's slowing you down etc. No sanitized presentations; just real problems.

03

The Architecture

Only then do I look at your actual architecture documents and designs. By this point, I understand not just what you built, but why you built it that way; and what actually matters to fix.

What you get

A review that's specific to your situation, not generic advice.

Custom Architecture Design

You rarely have a simple technical problem: you have an organizational one. Maybe teams are tripping over each other. Maybe nobody's clear on the strategy. Maybe you're about to build something big and don't want to regret it.

I don't just design architecture. I setup your entire team to succeed.

01

Business & Problem Definition

We start like the review: deep workshop on your business, what makes you different, and the specific problem you're solving. Then we align on expectations: timeline, budget, outcomes. No surprises later.

02

Stakeholder Alignment

I talk to key stakeholders across the organization. Not to collect opinions, but to catch misalignment before you build. If your VP of Product wants something different than your CTO, we solve that now.

03

Team & Domain Boundaries

I look at how your organization is structured and recommend adjustments so teams can work autonomously. Clear boundaries = faster shipping, fewer dependencies.

04

Architecture & Project Plan

With your team leads, we draft the high-level architecture and a realistic project plan. This isn't a pretty diagram; it's a blueprint your teams can actually execute.

05

Delivery Support (Optional)

If you want, I stick around during execution. I work across multiple teams, focus on what could derail you, and keep things on track.

What you get

A clear strategy and a team that knows how to build it.

Mentoring / Coaching

You want your team to handle architecture decisions themselves and not become dependent on expensive contractors / consultants. I'm here to build that capability with you.

How we work depends on where you are on your journey:

Experienced architects, scattered approach

You bring concrete problems. I ask the questions that force you to find answers. I show how I'd think through it, but the thinking is yours. This works when you already have experience; you just need structure.

Building your practice from scratch

I start by working alongside you on real architecture. You shadow, then gradually take the lead. It's hands-on, slower, but you're learning by doing and not sitting in a classroom.

Scaling across a team

I work with your whole architect group, building decision-making frameworks and practices that stick. It's about creating a discipline, not just training individuals.

Combined with design work

Bring me in during (or right after) a design engagement. You get the solution and your team learns how it came together. Best of both worlds.

What you get

A team confident in making architectural decisions. No more consultant dependency later.
